REASONS WHY YOUR HEADSHOT SHOULD LOOK JUST LIKE YOU!

Some Things to Look for when shopping for a headshot photographer:

    1. Does the STYLE of the photography fit your headshot needs? Look and learn. If you like the style, then call the photographer to look at more work and see if you can "click" with them. Be sure to tell them you saw them on the ACTORSITE and ask if they have a special for ACTORSITE ACTORS..

    2. Does the price reflect what you can afford? If not, you can always call them and ask if they are running a special for ACTORSITE ACTORS.

    3. Be sure you have done your homework as far as the LOOK(S) you are going for. Remember, the photographer cannot be responsible if you are not properly  prepared. Make sure your hair and your look is the way you walk into the audition. If you OVERSTYLE the photographs and get one of those "WHO IS THIS?" pictures that  so many have, you have wasted your time and money, although it may give you the ego boost that you need. Don't be fooled, an overstyled picture will not help your career, although it may help your self-esteem. Be sure to tell the stylist if you use one that you want a NATURAL picture that LOOKS LIKE YOU.

    4. Most importantly, do you feel a personal connection with the photographer? (and the stylist?) It's so important that you are comfortable and have confidence in the photographer (and the stylist also). Chat with them and see how you "click" with them. Tell them that we encourage that on the ACTORSITE.

    5. Wardrobe choices should be natural fabrics and darker solid colors. Be sure that your wardrobe reflects the types of roles you are called in for and be sure to choose clothes that that are not too trendy. Bring lots of slip over tops and button up tops in solid styles without designer labels. Again, darker  is always better than lighter.
