Are they someone who spreads joy and makes things better for others, or do they stir up conflict and chaos? Or maybe they’re a mix of both—a Grinch with a heart waiting to grow three sizes!
✨ Fun Thought: Imagine your character in a holiday movie. Are they the hero scrambling to save Christmas, brimming with determination and a can-do attitude? Or are they the antagonist, whose cynicism and selfishness create roadblocks for themselves and others? Maybe they’re the reluctant helper who learns the true meaning of connection along the way. Think about how their personality, values, and goals would influence their actions and let that be the guiding star from where you make your character choices.

These questions can help you explore your character’s essence—their strengths, flaws, and how they interact with others. Ask yourself:
Does my character prioritize helping others, or do they focus on their own needs?
How do they handle challenges—do they unite people, or do they push them away?
What would make them act selflessly, and what might make them act selfishly?
The way your character shows up—whether as a helper, a hindrance, or something in between—can reveal the depth of their humanity and add nuance to your performance regardless of what the scene is actually about.
